There are a variety of activities for the children / teens of the Parish including;
Weekly
- Newtongrange Jellytots –for pre-school children, every Tuesday 10-11.30 at Newtongrange Church Hall (school term time only);
- Mayfield Jellytots – for pre- school children, every Monday from 10.00am at Mayfield Church Hall (school term time only);
- Girls Brigade
- Newtongrange Company every Tuesday 6.30pm – 8.30pm at Newtongrange Church Hall (school term time only);
- Mayfield Company Explorers (girls in P1 to P3) every Thursday 6.30 and 7.30 pm at Mayfield & Easthouses Church Hall (school term time only);
- Juniors and Brigaders (p4+), every Thursday evening 6.30 pm – 8.30pm at Mayfield & Easthouses Church Hall (school term time only);
- Cookie Club – every Sunday 11-12pm during our time of Worship at whichever centre we are worshipping in that month.
Monthly
- Messy Church – the first Tuesday of each month at 4.30 – 6.30 at Mayfield and Easthouses Church
Other
- Holiday Clubs – We have an Easter workshop and a week long summer club for primary aged children – all welcome
We also welcome other external groups such as the Scouts and Beavers.
Newtongrange Jelly Tots
Tuesday morning (term time) 10 – 11.30 at Newtongrange Church Hall

Open to all pre-schoolers, our Jellytots group offers a place to meet other mums whilst watching your children play with others.
Mayfield Jelly Tots
This is a new and small group of Parent / Carers with pre-scool children which meet at Mayfield and Easthouses Church on a Monday morning from 10.00am to provide mutual support while the children play.

Girls Brigade
- Newtongrange Company meets from 6.30 pm each Tuesday evening during school term-time in the Newtongrange church hall. For more information then contact Gillian Clark.
- Mayfield Company Explorers (girls in P1 to P3) meet each Thursday between 6.30 and 7.30 pm. For more information then contact them by email
- Juniors and Brigaders (p4+) from 6.30 pm to 8.30pm each Thursday evening during school term-time in the Mayfield & Easthouses church hall.
In their Companies, the girls meet each week to work through a programme of activities suited to their age and ability following a syllabus of spiritual, physical, educational and service subjects.
The main emphasis is on fun and enjoyment as they learn to work and play together. Activities include crafts, baking, games and entertaining. Christmas can be a visit to the panto, or puppet theatre. At the end of our GB year, each company has an Annual Display – the girls entertain their families and friends by demonstrating some of their activities, and each girl receives a token of recognition for her commitment of attendance and badges for awards gained.
Sunday Cookie Club
We have a Sunday Cookie Club during part of our Sunday Service of Worship. We always share the start of each service together, from 11am before the young people go to their own teaching activities and worship session. For more information then email Affie Morley
Messy Church
The first Tuesday of every month 4.30pm to 6.30pm at Mayfield & Easthouses Church.
A fresh expression of church, with a time of creative activity, worship and food for families of all shapes and sizes. Children, bring an adult with you!
