Previously known as the Woman’s Guild, the Guild now welcomes gentlemen as well as ladies. The Guild is a movement within the Church of Scotland which invites and encourages both women and men to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and enables them to express their faith in worship, prayer and action. The aim has been underlined in our motto which is taken from Acts 27:23: “Whose we are and Whom we serve”.

For further information then email call Elizabeth Macaulay on 0131 561 9382.

Newbattle Ramblers,

The afternoon of the second to last Sunday of each month (weather permitting).

The Newbattle Ramblers meet for a gentle walk around the local area once a month. This is a great opportunity for fellowship, to find out about our local history and wildlife while enjoying the fresh air and exercise. The walks are organised and led by Alex Duncan (07582 383 637)

Praise Band

The Praise Band was formed to offer people within the parish an alternative way of praising God through singing.

We are a happy, welcoming team and we support Sunday morning worship twice a month, and on special occasions.

The band has a core membership of musicians together with a flexible vocal support group  – not everyone can be there every time we get together.  Members of the band are encouraged to bring new songs and music for the band to play and sing.

We are keen to welcome new musicians (keyboard, guitar, drums and other instruments) and new singers.  Singers do not need to be able to read music, just to hold a tune. There are no formal auditions!

If you are interested in joining us, please contact our musical director Graham via praiseband@newbattleparish.org

Newbattle Players

Thursday Evening at 7:30pm (with additional Sunday rehearsals nearer the performances) at Newtongrange Church Hall

Newbattle Players, is our local drama group which rehearses between May and November for a 2 night panto, normally performed on the first weekend of December.

We pride ourselves on being inclusive with all types or roles (large, small, speaking, non-speaking, behind the scenes help)
